Ocean Helper Update - March 2020

Reducing Plastic Waste - Tip of the Month!

Each month we are aiming to bring you a new and fun tip to reduce plastic waste in your everyday life. This month Tammi, our clean ocean campaigner, has this awesome tip for you:

Hello Ocean Helpers!

March, the month of dolphin awareness as well as the start of spring. The weather begins to get warmer and beach cleans are happening around the world to clean up after the storms of February.

This month I am asking again, have you got a travel mug yet? Not only do they keep your hot drinks hot on cold winter mornings, but when those warm summer days come around they can keep your cold drinks refreshing and cool. They are made from stainless steel and many coffee shops are now accepting reusable mugs so there is no need to use disposable coffee cups which are often lined with plastic. You can read more about the Disposable Vs Reusable Coffee Cups here.

Get an Ocean Helper Reusable Mug today for just $19.95, you will not only be reducing plastic but also supporting marine conservation charities. Or you can grab an extra couple of mugs to pass on to your friends and family to help them reduce plastic with our offer of 3 mugs for the price of 2! Click here to get yours today!

Do you know the difference between a dolphin & a porpoise?

There are around 32 dolphin species whereas there are only 6 species of porpoise. According to NOAA the biggest difference between the two is their face, dolphins have a longer and more pronounced nose, where as porpoises have a smaller mouth. They also have different fins, porpoise have triangular dorsal fins unlike the dolphin that has a curved or hooked fin. Typically dolphins will be leaner than porpoises too.
