Reducing Plastic Waste - Tip of the Month!
Each month we are aiming to bring you a new and interesting tip to reduce plastic waste in your everyday life. This month Tammi, our clean ocean campaigner, has this awesome tip for you:
Hello Ocean Helpers!
Welcome to April! This month is full of springtime celebrations and more sunshine. Amidst all the craziness in our world at the moment there is hope.
I feel as though this is the month for change, and encourage all of you to make some sort of change in your life to help benefit our planet. My tip for this month is Reusable Supermarket Shopping Bags. Hopefully many of you already use reusable bags for your shopping, whether it you use "Bags For Life" or have alternative reusable bags. It's usually easy to remember your shopping bags when you go to the supermarket, I tend to keep mine by the front door or in my car, ready for when I am heading to the shops.
Ocean Helper stocks packs of 4 reusable shopping trolley bags for just $29.95. These shopping bags fit into your local supermarkets trolleys and allow you to sort your shopping AND avoid unnesscary plastic bags. They can be folded up and are perfect to leave in your car, ready for the next trip to the grocery store. Click here to get yours today!
Ocean Helper's April 2020
We are incredibly excited to announce that last month we were able to donate $213 to the Dolphin Project all thanks to your support! As this months focus is on Marine Mammals Rescue this month we will be donating 10% of our profits to The Marine Mammal Centre to support their work in rescuing, rehabilitating and releasing hundreds of marine mammals each year.
So far this month we have looked at Ghost Gear, its impact on the ocean and what can be done to reduce the threat of ghost fishing gear which causes injury and even death for hundreds of thousands of marine creatures. Click on the image below to read more and sign the petition:
If you have a petition you want us to share or have a cause you need the world to hear about then we would love to hear from you! You can contact us either on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or via email directly - email@example.com
We have also looked at how to be respectful around marine mammals that come to rest on land after earlier this year videos and images emerged of beachgoers harassing resting sea lions. Read more about that here. Not only that but we celebrated Narwhal Day on April 10th along with Dolphin Awareness Day on the 14th!

"Strong south wind and big waves brought all kinds of trash to our little beach in Dubrovnik, Croatia. Me and my guests were there to clean it."
Check out the pictures he took below. Keep up the amazing work Teo!
